To protect the public health and slow the rate of transmission of the coronavirus (COVID-19), all City of Pompano Beach public gatherings have been cancelled or postponed. In addition, until further notice, all cultural arts venues will be temporarily closed to the general public.
This course allows young learners to become visual artists with a hands-on, project-based learning opportunity to integrate real-world experiences with application of geometry skills and concepts. Students will start with a review of the foundations of geometry culminating with a 2D activity showcasing what they have learned during the course.
Students will research a variety of masks from different cultures, places, and meanings and during each lesson will incorporate lines, angles, shape and symmetry into their creation.
This class will be taught by Christina Wimberly, who is a fifth and sixth grade math and social studies teacher at St. Anthony’s Catholic School.
