The City will commission an artist/artist team to for a work for hire project to design and install a painted mural on the east exterior wall of 3231 E. Atlantic Blvd. Theme for the mural would be to mark the entry/exit into Pompano Beach’s Beach District as visitors cross the drawbridge to leave the area. The artist will be asked to create a design that contains layered, abstracted forms drawn from the coastal environment, the bridge’s structure, and the movement between land, water, and culture, rather than relying on literal or souvenir-style imagery. Logos are not to be used. A UV Resistant Coating must be applied to the finished product.

The City will commission an artist/artist team for a work for hire project to design, fabricate, and install a sculpture to be placed at the north entrance of the Ali Cultural Center. The sculpture’s theme is “Rooted Pride, Living Legacy.” The artwork should honor the Black community of Pompano Beach’s Northwest—its culture, history, pride, style, creativity, and resilience—acknowledging struggle while celebrating a future in motion and a legacy that never gives up.

Bailey Contemporary Arts Center (BaCA), operated by the City of Pompano Beach Cultural Affairs Department (PBCAD), is seeking participants for its Artists in Residence (AiR) Program. The program offers eight studio spaces to individual visual, performative, and theatrical artists for a nine-month residency from October 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. Through this residency, PBCAD aims to foster an environment that supports artistic growth, experimentation, and professional development. The program is intentionally flexible to encourage individuality, spontaneity, and collaboration. BaCA serves as a welcoming and inclusive space where diverse art forms, creative practices, and modes of inquiry are accepted, nurtured, and celebrated. The AiR Program cultivates a dynamic setting that invites the public to engage with artists, observe the creative process, and experience new work, attracting both local residents and visitors. The deadline for applications is March 24, 2026 at 11:59 PM. All applications must be submitted through CAFÉ in order to be considered.
