Live at the Hive: Florida’s Funniest Comedians Brings the Laughs All Summer Long

If you’re looking for a guaranteed good time this summer, Live at the Hive: Florida’s Funniest Comedians at the new Hive Black Box Theater delivers exactly what the title promises—some of the sharpest, most entertaining comedic talent Florida has to offer. Running from June 26 through August 15, this lively showcase pairs seasoned performers with rising stars for a series of unforgettable nights filled with nonstop laughter.

The series kicks off June 26 and 27 with Dean Napolitano and Joe Latham, a duo that blends American storytelling with British wit. Napolitano, originally from Long Island, has built an impressive career performing across Florida and the Southeast, while also appearing in popular television shows like Burn Notice, Heroes, and The Shield. With experience opening for legends such as Don Rickles and Joan Rivers, Napolitano brings a polished, high-energy style to the stage.

Joining him is Joe Latham, whose charming British perspective adds a fresh twist to the lineup. Having performed internationally and appeared on networks like the BBC and ITV, Latham mixes clever one-liners with humorous observations about life in America. His tales of cruise ship life, cultural differences, and everyday mishaps make him a standout voice among Florida’s emerging comedians.

In July, the spotlight shifts to L.A. Hardy and Julie Baez, performing July 10 and 11. Hardy is a comedy veteran with over three decades of experience, having entertained audiences worldwide and performed for U.S. troops since the mid-1990s. His credits include appearances on BET’s ComicView, Comics Unleashed, and a Dry Bar Comedy special. Known for his ability to tackle topics ranging from family life to cultural commentary, Hardy’s performances are both relatable and consistently hilarious.

Sharing the stage is Julie Baez, a rising comedian with deep Miami roots and Dominican heritage. Baez brings vibrant storytelling and a “Latin spice” to her act, drawing inspiration from comedy legends while carving out her own unique voice. As the creator of Funny In Pink Productions, she also champions women in comedy, making her not only a performer to watch but a force in the local comedy scene.

The series wraps up August 14 and 15 with James Yon and Nik Macik. Yon, a Florida native, is quickly becoming one of the state’s most recognizable comedic talents. As the host of Viral Breakdown and a finalist in NBC’s Stand Up for Diversity, Yon combines charisma with sharp observational humor. His experience performing alongside national headliners has helped him develop a confident, engaging stage presence.

Nik Macik rounds out the lineup with his energetic performances across Florida and the Southeast. Known for his work with the Gold Coast Comedy Tour, Macik also brings a growing acting career into the mix, with appearances in upcoming film and web series projects. His comedic style is approachable yet distinctive, making him a perfect complement to Yon’s dynamic delivery.

With tickets starting at just $25, Live at the Hive offers an accessible way to experience top-tier comedy in an intimate setting. Whether you’re a longtime comedy fan or simply in need of a night out, this summer series promises big laughs, diverse voices, and unforgettable performances.
