Living Room Concert Series: Intimate Sounds, Unforgettable Nights in Pompano Beach

If you’ve ever wished you could experience live music up close—where every lyric resonates and every note feels personal—the Living Room Concert Series at The Hive Black Box Theater is exactly what you’ve been looking for. This monthly event is redefining Pompano Beach’s music scene by offering an immersive, intimate concert experience that brings audiences closer to the artists than ever before.

Held every fourth Thursday of the month from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, this series has quickly become a local favorite. With tickets priced at just $10, it’s an accessible and exciting way to enjoy high-quality live performances in a creative setting. You can see details of all the upcoming shows here, and as with all events in the series, guests are encouraged to purchase tickets through Eventbrite in advance—third-party tickets may be invalid, and no guarantees are made for availability at the door.

The Hive Black Box Theater provides the perfect backdrop for this one-of-a-kind experience. Designed to foster connection between performers and audience members, the venue transforms each concert into something that feels more like a private session than a traditional show. Inspired by NPR’s iconic Tiny Desk Concerts, the series captures that same magic—raw, authentic, and deeply engaging.

Each month features a different artist or group, showcasing a diverse range of musical styles, from jazz and soul to fusion and global influences. The performances are carefully curated to highlight both established and emerging talent from South Florida and beyond, making every event feel fresh and unique.

Kicking off the upcoming lineup on April 23 is The Harden Project, a dynamic duo made up of Ja’Nia Harden and John Harden. Known for their seamless musical chemistry, they blend jazz, soul, and fusion into emotive, groove-filled performances. Drawing inspiration from legends like Ella Fitzgerald and Chaka Khan, their sound is both timeless and modern. Having shared the stage with acclaimed artists such as Laylah Hathaway and Anthony Hamilton, The Harden Project promises a powerful and memorable opening night.

The months that follow continue to build excitement. On May 28, audiences can experience the vibrant energy of Jenny “Cachita” Lopez, a South Florida favorite known for her fusion of jazz and traditional Cuban sounds. June 25 brings LaVie, whose uplifting performances encourage listeners to embrace life fully through music. In July, international jazz vocalist Bianca Rosarrio takes the stage, offering a captivating blend of jazz, blues, and soul shaped by her global career.

The series continues in August with Nicole Yarling, a celebrated violinist and educator whose influence on South Florida’s jazz community spans decades. Closing out the current lineup in September is Walker Town, a soulful duo of Miami brothers whose gospel roots and modern grooves create an energetic and heartfelt performance.

What makes the Living Room Concert Series truly special is its ability to create connection—between artist and audience, between sound and emotion. It’s not just about listening to music; it’s about feeling it, sharing it, and being part of something intimate and alive.

Whether you’re a dedicated music lover or simply looking for a unique night out, this series offers an experience that’s vibrant, memorable, and undeniably special.
