Welcome to The Hive Black Box Theater, an immersive cultural landmark designed to ignite bold performances, inspire artistic expression, and serve as a dynamic hub for community, culture, and connection.

A Catalyst for Creativity

The Hive is more than a stage—it’s a catalyst for transformation. Built to empower local artists, performers, and creators, the space provides an affordable and adaptable platform for experimentation, innovation, and storytelling.

Whether it’s experimental theater, spoken word poetry, live music, dance, or multimedia art, The Hive offers the freedom and support needed for ideas to flourish. Its flexible design blurs the line between performer and audience, inviting guests to experience the arts up close and personal. This is art without boundaries, made accessible to everyone.

A Gathering Place for Community

For the residents of Pompano Beach, The Hive is not just a performance space—it’s a meeting ground. It is a place where people of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life can come together to celebrate creativity in a welcoming, inclusive environment.

The Hive’s programming is designed to go beyond entertainment. From youth programs and educational workshops to cultural festivals and community forums, this venue is deeply committed to strengthening civic pride and fostering meaningful connections.

By nurturing emerging talent and showcasing diverse voices, The Hive contributes to a richer, more inclusive cultural identity for the city. It positions Pompano Beach as a true destination for the arts—a beacon of imagination and inspiration.

A Transformative Investment

The creation of The Hive was made possible by a $1.2 million investment in the Ali Cultural Arts Center campus, reflecting the city’s commitment to the power of the arts.

Supported in part by a $500,000 grant from the Florida Department of State, with additional funding from the City of Pompano Beach, the project has transformed the center with upgraded landscaping, new signage, and a freshly painted exterior.

One of the most striking features is an 800-square-foot mural created by Haitian-American artist Nathan “Nate Dee” Delinois, supported by Wayne and Lucretia Weiner. This powerful work of art sets the tone for a space that reflects creativity, resilience, and community spirit. Funding from the Broward Cultural Division ensures that The Hive’s opening season will launch with an inspiring lineup of events.

Celebrate the Grand Opening

The community is invited to celebrate the Grand Opening of The Hive on Saturday, September 13, from 11 am to 10 pm at the Ali Cultural Arts Center.

The festivities will kick off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a full day of live performances, artist talks, interactive experiences, DJ sets, food trucks, and community activities. Admission is free with RSVP.

This celebration marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Pompano Beach—one filled with monthly concerts, film screenings, workshops, residencies, and youth programs that will inspire, engage, and unite the community.

Whether you’re an artist, art lover, or curious newcomer, there’s a place for you at The Hive.
