Manzi Liu

Manzi Liu brings an international flair to her paintings having studied and practiced art in her native China, and later in France and the US. Fascinated with Asian culture, ancient mythology, and her inner world of dreams and memories, her paintings often incorporate these themes and blend styles of Surrealism and Expressionism. During her residency, Liu plans to create a large-scale project of several paintings, entitled The Sign, which will feature feminine figures with Chinese cultural elements. This project will honor Chinese women who are constrained by their culture and society’s bondage in different eras and will explore the women’s different responses to their circumstances.

Join Bailey Contemporary Arts' Artist of the Month Manzi Liu in this professionally-led painting class with a high-energy environment and a few drinks. Painting supplies are provided. Each participant will receive 1 free drink ticket for wine or beer; additional drinks may be purchased.

Manzi Liu is a visual artist based in South Florida. She was born and grew up in China. She studied Art Design at South China Agriculture University, China; Studio Art at Ecole Nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts, France; and graduated with BFA in Studio Art- Painting at Florida Atlanta University. Her artwork has been exhibited at Ritter Gallery, Ali Cultural Arts Gallery, Broward Center, Unilatina International University, and more.

This class is for beginners and beyond. Students will be taught specific painting techniques to create still life paintings. Taught by BaCA Artist of the Month Manzi Liu, she will demonstrate how to create paintings from the beginning pencil drawing to the final painting. Materials will be supplied. Register here.
