Upcoming Schedule

April 7th

  • The Rockin' Jake Band

The Rockin' Jake band has been hailed by many as one of the premier harmonica players in the country. His original sound is a hybrid of second line, swamp funk, blues and zydeco with influences from Paul Butterfield, Big Walter Horton, James Cotton, The Meters, WAR, J. Geils Band, Clifton Chenier, and the Fabulous Thunderbirds. Based out of New Orleans since 1990, The Rockin' Jake band relocated since being flooded out by Hurricane Katrina, and now lives in Southern Florida. Jake has toured nationally with G. Love & Special Sauce, blues and pop legend Maria Muldaur, and bluesman T.J, Wheeler.

The band's work has also been heard on the soundtrack of "The Big Easy" television series, the theme for the "Mike Ditka Show, " and a Miller Beer commercial. Jake is a five-time winner of Off Beat Magazine's coveted Best of the Beat award for best harmonica player. The band pour out their souls in every performance with high energy and electricity which consistently brings the audience to their feet

  • Artist Alley Activation - Join Gregory Dirr, December's Artist of the Month (Artist in Residence Program) as he completes the master piece that was started as a largescale drawing in Artist Alley since the start of the Untapped season in October 2022.
  • Rituals - Special Performance by Shanna Woods, April's Artist of the Month - Artist in Residence Program

"The dance work, Rituals, challenges my thoughts around survival, thriving, rest and joy. In the past, I felt like I was always in survival mode out of fear, trying to make it through, and barely sustaining myself and my daughter. Rituals is an exploration of my desire to thrive with the intersections of joy and dream.

Rituals as an exhibit is a journey through the liberation of rest and radical joy. My desire is to create safe spaces for women to rest, reflect, and enjoy the essence of their being; to “sit down somewhere” (as our mothers, grandmothers and aunties told us to when we were restless and “doing too much”). We deserve this!"
