The Make a Wish Project

The Make a Wish Project creates an immersive environment where community members of all ages can honor their dreams through art. Building on my earlier installation You Are a Diamond in the Rough, this project centers on a glowing, heart-shaped well, lit from within and adorned with scorched textile forms. Visitors are invited to write a wish and release it into the well, forming a chorus of hope.

The well is paired with an expanded version of my installation Visions, a walk-through environment of hanging, scorched textiles suspended with elastic. When touched, the pieces sway and dance, creating a contemplative, dreamlike space.

To extend the project beyond the physical site, I will create textile photographs capturing the play of light and texture within the installation. These images allow the atmosphere to be shared more widely and remembered over time. Together, the well and Visions create a poetic space where participants leave a personal mark while joining a collective story.
