Tsunami

Tsunami is a mixed-media series (2021–2025) of 36 paintings constructed from predatory lending scraps, acrylics, house paint, and recycled materials, including fabrics, braided hair, pearls, and even tabletops. The work began during the pandemic, when the flood of junk mail in the U.S. , over 100 billion pieces annually, became an unexpected source of anxiety for me... Combined with the constant sight of litter tossed from moving cars, I found myself wrestling with what role artists can play in conversations about sustainability.
