Flori-: from flos, floris — Latin for flower, bloom, or blossom -palmae: plural or genitive (possessive) form of palma — palm tree, open hand, or a symbol of victory and peace.
Evokes a surreal, Edenic species or grove — elegant, hybrid, feminine, lush, and alive with bloom
This work is a geometric exploration inspired by emergent order in natural systems—how simple rules can give rise to dynamic, complex forms. Drawing from the flora and fauna of South Florida and integrating the city’s palette, the composition evokes a palm grove in bloom. The piece unfolds through a layered field of shapes, each contributing to a larger metaphor of growth, energy, and place. Three primary color sets are used to echo the city’s branding palette, while a fourth green is represented by the surrounding landscape itself, completing the visual identity. As the piece ascends, its filigree becomes increasingly delicate and ephemeral, creating a fading effect enhanced by forced perspective.
