Vivacious
Vivacious
By Hunter Brown
The City of Pompano Beach has partnered with Pompano Park JV Land and Holding LLC, a Florida based joint venue between Cordish Companies and Ceasers Entertainment, to bring a new sculpture to “The Pomp” at Harrah’s Pompano Beach. The sculpture entitled Vivacious, funded through the City’s Public Art Program, stands about 20 feet tall and is utilized of stainless steel and a variety of other metals. The artwork is created by Hunter Brown, a sculpture artist specializing in site-specific installations that engage and transform space. Brown creates dynamic and sophisticated sculptures that seamlessly integrate with their environment. He approaches the space as his canvas, carefully considering how viewers will interact with his work and exploring innovative ways to incorporate art into the fabric of its surroundings.
Brown’s design process begins with digital modeling, allowing him to translate conceptual visions into precise virtual forms. These models are then brought to life in his studio through collaboration with a skilled team of fabricators. Throughout his practice, Brown’s mission has been to push boundaries and embrace boldness in his design approach. More than creating beautiful works of art, Brown aspires for his sculptures to inspire others, challenging perceptions, evoking emotion, and encouraging viewers to see space and form in new and meaningful ways.
Biography:
With emphasis on movement, space activation, and balance, Hunter Brown’s sculptures explore the potential for expressive variety in steel. His sinuous designs with organic volumes gracefully move through space, with gravity defying joineries, and beautiful interaction with the adjacent forms. Brown’s volumetric abstractions and combinations of geometric forms demonstrate his artistic inheritance from master artists such as Hans Van De Bovenkamp, and other twentieth century modernist sculptors.
Brown received his higher education from the University of Central Arkansas where he acquired a Bachelor in Art. During his time at the University of Central Arkansas his emphasis transitioned from graphic design to sculpture. Brown found great satisfaction in bringing his designs into space and working with his hands. Following graduating, Brown built a design and sculpture studio, where he would continue to explore sculptural forms. Today Brown is the owner and operator of Innovative Sculpture Design Studio where he creates fine art full time. In over 10 years of creating sculpture, his works can now be found in private, commercial, and public art collections in over 25 states and 3 countries.
Brown continues to push outside the box by working with collectors and curators to create iconic, place-making works of art.
