Lunch with Art – The LIVE Music Edition

Every 3rd Thursday each month. Take break from your day, bring your lunch and let our live music performance move you during this FREE monthly program! These sessions are formatted to allow for interaction -- get up and dance, ask questions, sing along or simply sit back and enjoy this FREE concert featuring local talent!

Each melody LIVE music becomes an escape from the daily stresses of life and reminds us how music is a universal language that we can all understand. Guests are invited to bring their lunch and a friend.

Light refreshments will be available for purchase from Pompano Beach Friends of the Libraries.

The FRIENDS of the Pompano Beach Library was established in 1974 as the City of Pompano Friends Library Group, a 501(c)(3) organization. In 1991 Pompano Beach Friends of the Library, Inc., joined the Friends of the Broward County Library Umbrella Group and currently represents two library branches: Pompano and Beach Branch Library.

The Friends supports and sponsors library programs for youth and adults held at both Libraries: children's summer reading and after school programs as well as special events throughout the year. The group also supports Library Staff and Volunteer recognition programs. The FRIENDs are recognized by the Broward County Friends of the Library for Innovative Programming and Support of Youth Programming.   • February 15th 2024 - Yendi

Yendi, also known as 'Songbird', is of Jamaican decent born in Manhattan, New York. Growing up to the sounds of influential musicians such as Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston to name a few. Yendi was molded on all areas of the Performing Arts from the age of 6 years old. She received her first record deal with Priority Records at the age of 15 in the girl group '1-305', working along side with music icon and former member of ‘Debarge’, James Debarge. The group was released from their contract two years later.

Yendi has had the opportunity throughout her career collaborated with credible artists and producers (Grammy Award producers Manny Fresh, Derek Baker also known as Bigg D, Kymani Marley and more). She now sings with many local Top 40 bands and production companies world wide.

Yendi’s mission is to use all her talents to achieve all that she can in the entertainment industry as Performer and entrepreneur leaving a stamping memory and inspiration for her fans.

  • March 21st 2024 - Ja'Nia Harden

An artist who has toured with Africa Unite festival Bob Marley’s 60th and Gospel Choir-Cotton Club revival. Her local performances in South Florida have delighted audience at Soul Vegan Festival 2022 and Juneteenth Festival 2022 City of Miami Beach. Her music features fusion based music of all genres, heavily influenced by jazz, social music, and soul.
