Places of Interest
Sample-McDougald House is a 4,700 square feet historic home built in 1916. It is currently located at 450 Northeast 10th Street, but was originally built on Dixie Highway and moved by the Sample-McDougald House Preservation Society. In 2004, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The house is open to the public and welcomes visitors. samplemcdougald.org
Goodyear Blimp, one of only three, the Wingfoot Two is based in Pompano Beach. The general public is welcome to visit the base however rides are by invitation only. Goodyearblimp.com
Pompano Beach Air Park: has many services including flight training, aircraft rental, air taxi/charter, scenic tours and mapping surveying. A jogging/walking path around its perimeter is very popular with both visitors and residents. https://pompanobeachfl.gov/government/public-works/airpark
Events
There are always large scale cultural and community festivals and events happening around the City. The Pompano Beach Seafood Festival is held in late April, the world-famous Pompano Beach Fishing Rodeo is in May, the Saltwater Circuit, a three-leg fishing tournament takes place from May to August.
